About this role
Meta is seeking an experienced Demand Planner to support supply chain and business planning functions through rigorous data analysis and forecasting. In this role, you will develop and maintain demand forecasting models that inform inventory positioning, capacity planning, and go-to-market readiness across Meta's hardware and consumer product lines. You will partner closely with supply chain, finance, product, and sales operations teams to translate market signals and business inputs into actionable demand plans that drive efficient resource allocation and minimize supply-demand imbalances.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain statistical demand forecasting models that integrate sell-through data, market trends, promotional calendars, and product lifecycle signals
- Own the end-to-end demand planning process for assigned product lines, including baseline forecasting, consensus planning, and exception management
- Analyze historical shipment, inventory, and point-of-sale data to identify demand patterns, forecast variances, and root causes of forecast error
- Collaborate with supply chain, finance, and product teams to align demand plans with inventory targets, capacity constraints, and financial commitments
- Build and maintain centralized planning dashboards and reporting tools that enable automated tracking of forecast accuracy, bias, and key demand planning metrics
- Support monthly and quarterly Sales and Operations Planning processes by delivering demand insights, scenario analyses, and recommendations to planning leadership
- Translate ambiguous business inputs and market intelligence into structured demand assumptions and quantitative forecast adjustments
- Identify gaps in planning data infrastructure and partner with data engineering and analytics teams to prioritize and deliver improvements
- Communicate forecast rationale, risks, and opportunities to cross-functional stakeholders and planning leadership in a clear and structured manner
- Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess the demand impact of product launches, channel shifts, promotional events, and macroeconomic changes
Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain analytics, or business planning with demonstrated ownership of statistical forecasting processes
- Experience building and maintaining demand forecasting models using quantitative and statistical methods
- Experience working with large datasets using SQL or similar data querying tools to extract and analyze supply chain or sales data
- Experience developing planning dashboards and automated reporting tools to support business decision-making
- Experience communicating complex analytical findings and forecast recommendations to cross-functional teams and planning leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with product lifecycle planning, channel inventory management, or new product introduction forecasting
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience using Python or R for statistical modeling and demand signal analysis
- Experience with demand planning software or advanced planning systems such as SAP IBP, Kinaxis, or comparable platforms
- Experience supporting Sales and Operations Planning processes in a consumer electronics or hardware product environment
Compensation
- $126,000/year - $182,000/year; Country: US; Bonus eligible; Equity eligible
