Development Engineer II - Onsite - Full Stack

Development Engineers II are experienced professionals who take on more complex software development tasks. They are responsible for designing and implementing software solutions, conducting code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to the overall improvement of the development process. Development Engineers II have a deep understanding of software development principles and technologies and play a key role in delivering high-quality software products. ## Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Deliver medium-high complexity development or automation tasks as part of a team. - Influence collaborative meetings with peers and stakeholders. - Interact with stakeholders, create requirements, and demonstrate work. - Document code and follow established software product engineering practices. - Work under moderate supervision with access to assistance for work assignments not covered through established guidelines. - Acquire solid knowledge and develop specialized skills. - Establish individual priorities when supporting projects or processes. - Perform other assigned job-related duties that align with the organization's vision, mission, and values and fall within the scope of practice. ## Design and Development - Design, code, and debug applications in various software languages or tools. - Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes. ## Testing and Maintenance - Perform unit testing and integration testing. - Maintain and improve existing codebases and peer review code changes. - Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues. ## Collaboration - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to define, design, and ship new features. - Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers. ## Documentation - Write and maintain technical documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections. ## Research and Development - Keep up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the company remains competitive. - Conduct research to discover new technologies and tools to improve efficiency and performance. ## Project Management - Participate in project planning, including estimating timeframes and resource requirements. - Manage tasks and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of projects. ## Security and Compliance - Ensure software security and compliance with industry standards and regulations. - Implement data protection and security measures. ## Customer Interaction - Interact with customers or end-users to gather requirements and provide support. - Translate customer requirements into technical specifications. ## Continuous Improvement - Continuously improve development processes and methodologies. - Engage in continuous learning and professional development. ## Qualifications - Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Quantitative or Engineering Field, or relevant experience. - 1+ years of relevant or practical experience. ## Preferred Skills - Experience designing, building, and maintaining full-stack applications, including modern front-end frameworks, back-end services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure. - Familiarity with optimization techniques, mathematical programming, or optimization solvers such as Gurobi. - Experience collaborating with data scientists and data engineers to integrate predictive models, analytical workflows, and data-driven decision capabilities into production applications. - Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and integrating AI/ML capabilities into software applications. ## Special Skills - Programming proficiency in at least two languages or proficiency in two software tools. - Proficiency in at least one front-end or back-end framework. - Data engineering. - Version control, DevOps, and CI/CD. - Technical writing and diagramming. - Technical, business, or data analysis. ## Soft Skills - Communication and stakeholder interaction. - Initiative in identifying and proposing development solutions. - Problem-solving for medium- to high-complexity tasks. - Adaptability in developing specialized skills and knowledge. - Leadership and mentoring of junior developers. - Time management. - Critical thinking.Professional team members are expected to demonstrate responsible use of approved AI tools, including safeguarding sensitive information, adhering to company policies, validating AI-generated outputs, integrating AI into daily work, improving efficiency through AI-enabled solutions, evaluating outputs critically, and applying professional judgment.
