Nature of Work

Incumbent of this position will perform complex administrative and professional work for the day-to-day management of the McDowell and Wyoming County, Family Assistance units. Responsibilities include planning, policy development, direction, coordination, and administration of the operation of multiple units within Family Assistance professional staff. Acts as a Liaison within the Bureau for Family Assistance with state and federal partners to facilitate problem resolution of complex and often controversial matters. Also, collaborates with community partners, outside agencies and service providers to assist in services provided to clients. Incumbent will establish district goals and objectives and monitor success of those goals. Perform related duties as required. Incumbent will be housed in both McDowell and Wyoming county offices.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

AND

Experience: Six (6) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a human services related area (such as case work, social work, counseling, child services, and or adult services), two (2) years of which must have been in a program administration capacity.

OR

Substitution: Graduate coursework in a human services related area may substitute for the non-program administration experience at the rate of fifteen (15) semester hours for every one (1) year.

 

Promotional Only:  Four (4) years of experience in the Economic Service Worker or Family Support series, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity, may substitute for the required training and experience.

PG:  20     $52,487 - $92,680

Market Rate: $82,277
