General summary This is licensed professional work providing medical nutrition therapy. Acts with independence and is accountable for completing nutrition assessments of all assigned patients to formulate an individualized plan of care, including treatment planning, follow up, and all required documentation as it relates to nutrition care. Provides individual counseling to discuss client’s personal nutrition/health goals. Offers nutrition education to patients in individual and group settings. Attend and participate in interdisciplinary care of patients including treatment planning, daily rounds, and assigned committees. Communicate with dietary staff - changes in diet orders and special dietary needs of assigned clients. Participate in the on-call rotation for the answering of urgent administrative, foodservice, and clinical questions during hours of department operation. Respond to All Available/Team Assist/Medical Assist/Code Blue codes. Collect data for Quality Assurance measures to ensure compliance with department policy and CMS and Joint Commission requirements. Knowledge, skills & abilities Knowledge of the principles and practices of dietetics and nutrition, and of food service systems management. Ability to complete nutritional assessments; adjust menus as needed; and interpret and follow doctors’ orders and consultations. Excellent State of Missouri Benefit Package Including:
