Job Description:CNBC is hiring a Director of Event Sales & Partnerships to help drive growth in one of our fastest-growing businesses. This role sits at the center of our live events strategy—driving sponsorship revenue across 40+ global events.
We’re looking for a dynamic team player who will thrive in a fast-paced, hardworking, entrepreneurial atmosphere as part of this high-priority business line.
In this role, you will be part of the team executing the CNBC Events sales strategy for the global leader in business news and money-themed content. You will help conceive lucrative and editorially compelling event concepts, identify, and pitch potential sponsors and ultimately deliver new revenue to CNBC Events, Television and Digital properties.
Reporting to the Vice President, you will work both autonomously and in partnership with the CNBC Events sales team to close new clients and business. Your main focus will be to drive direct event fee commitments from sponsors for our 40+ annual in-person and virtual events. You will also work with the broader CNBC Events Production and Editorial teams to deliver on and exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new sponsorship revenue across CNBC’s global events portfolio
- Work cross-functionally to pitch custom, high-impact partnership programs to prospective sponsors
- Work closely with sponsors through the lifecycle of the sale and event to ensure the sponsor’s expectations are met
- 5+ years in event sales, media sales, or partnerships
- Meet or exceed annual revenue targets through direct sponsorship sales
- Proven track record closing sponsorship deals
- Established network of senior client contacts with the ability to drive immediate revenue opportunities
- A cross-platform approach to event sales incorporating elements of Digital and Television products
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience selling into the Financial Services category preferred
- Strong presentation skills with a dynamic, credible presence among senior client decision-makers
- Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform independently and proactively while working in a team environment
- Excellent communicator with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders

Additional Job Requirements:
- Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $165,000
