Summary

The Magnet Program Director is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s Magnet Recognition Program, ensuring compliance with the standards set by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The role involves strategic planning, coordination, and execution of initiatives to achieve and maintain Magnet status, promoting excellence in nursing practice and patient care. This role also oversees nursing education team.

Responsibilities

Develops and implement strategies to achieve and sustain Magnet Recognition.

Leads and coordinates all aspects of the Magnet application, documentation, and site visit processes. 

Collaborates with senior leadership, nursing management, and interdisciplinary teams to align Magnet principles with organizational goals. 

Promotes and facilitates continuous quality improvement initiatives within the nursing department. 

Serves as the primary liaison between the organization and the ANCC. 

Ensures ongoing compliance with ANCC Magnet standards and requirements. 

Develops and executes a comprehensive nursing education strategy aligned with the organization’s goals. 

Provides leadership and direction to the nursing education team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. 

Ensures all educational programs comply with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements. 

Performs all other related job duties as assigned.



Experience

Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience. Leadership experience is required.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. Master's degree or Doctor's degree preferred.

Skill

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Skill in monitoring/assessing the performance to make improvements or take corrective action. Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs. Ability to establish goals and objectives. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.




Credentials

Valid Florida RN license is required.

Working Conditions

Environmental Conditions - Jobs in this group are required to function in a fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent and stressful situations. Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public. Function is subject to inside environmental conditions, with occasional outdoor exposures. Possible exposure to various environments such as: communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a hospital and medical office environment. May wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves or a mask when exposed to hospital environment outside of office.
