About this role
The Director of Corporate Owned Studios serves as the operational leader for Orangetheory Fitness' Corporate Owned Studio portfolio. This role is accountable for the overall performance, profitability, member experience, fitness execution, and talent development across all corporate locations.
Leading Regional Directors, Studio Managers, Head Coaches, and support functions, the Director will strengthen operating discipline, drive profitable growth, build leadership capability, and position Corporate Studios as Orangetheory's centers of excellence and testing ground for future products, programs, and operational initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a high-impact multi-unit operator with a demonstrated ability to elevate performance, rebuild underperforming operations, develop strong leadership teams, and drive sustainable growth. This leader thrives in environments requiring disciplined execution, change leadership, and operational transformation while protecting an exceptional member experience.
Purpose/Impact: (Duties & Essential Functions)
Operations Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership for the Corporate Studio portfolio.
- Lead and develop Regional Directors and studio leadership teams.
- Refine operating rhythms, scorecards, and performance management processes to improve execution.
- Lead portfolio-wide performance improvement initiatives that strengthen operational effectiveness, studio profitability, and team accountability.
- Establish action plans to recover performance in underperforming markets and studios.
- Drive change management efforts that support business transformation and long-term growth.
Financial Performance & Growth
- Own portfolio-wide P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
- Drive membership growth, retention, and revenue expansion.
- Improve sales execution, conversion, and member lifecycle management.
- Optimize labor, payroll, and operating expenses while maintaining service standards.
- Partner with Marketing, Finance, and Brand teams to accelerate growth and strengthen unit economics.
- Set clear financial expectations and ensure corrective action plans are implemented when results fall below targets.
- Improve cash flow, profitability, and operating efficiency across the portfolio.
Fitness Excellence & Coaching Development
- Establish Corporate Studios as the benchmark for coaching quality across the Orangetheory network.
- Lead the development of Head Coaches, Fitness Leaders, and coaching talent pipelines.
- Ensure consistent execution of the Orangetheory workout experience and fitness standards.
- Partner with Fitness, Learning & Development, and Product teams to elevate product effectiveness and member outcomes.
- Drive coach recruitment, retention, performance management, and succession planning.
Member Experience
- Champion an exceptional member experience across all touchpoints.
- Lead retention and engagement strategies that increase member loyalty and lifetime value.
- Leverage feedback and performance data to continuously improve the experience.
Innovation & Enterprise Partnership
- Partner with Product, Fitness, Operations, and Executive Leadership to test and scale new initiatives.
- Support pilots, innovation programs, and operational readiness efforts across Corporate Studios.
- Develop best practices and playbooks that can be leveraged throughout the franchise network.
- Serve as the operational voice of the studio experience in enterprise decision-making.
Talent & Culture
- Build high-performing teams and leadership pipelines at every level of the organization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and results.
- Recruit, coach, and retain industry-leading talent.
- Lead change efforts that strengthen field leadership capability, accountability, and performance expectations.

Background
Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of multi-unit leadership experience.
- 5+ years leading leaders in a regional, divisional, or senior operational role.
- Demonstrated P&L ownership and financial management experience.
- Proven success leading multi-unit organizations through growth, operational improvement, or business transformation.
- Demonstrated ability to improve performance through operational discipline, leadership development, and execution.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and influence skills.
- Ability to travel regularly across assigned markets.
Preferred
- Boutique fitness or health and wellness industry experience.
- Experience within a franchise system.
- Experience leading both operations and fitness/performance functions.
- Experience launching new products, pilots, or strategic initiatives.
- Experience leading performance improvement, business integration, or organizational change initiatives across multi-unit businesses.
- MBA or advanced business education.
