Duluth Interprofessional Student Program Assistant

The Center for Health Interprofessional Programs (CHIP) provides exciting opportunities for health science students to connect, learn, serve, and lead across professions. The Duluth Interprofessional Student Program Assistant will play an integral role in supporting, developing, and enhancing interprofession, co-curricular programming, particularly on the Duluth campus among Medicine and Pharmacy students. 

Overview
The purpose of this position is to promote campus equity and to provide Medicine and Pharmacy students on the Duluth campus with in-person event opportunities centered around interprofessional education and wellbeing. In addition to the facilitation of in-person events on the Duluth campus, this position would assist the CHIP Director with remote projects that promote CHIP’s mission, vision, and values across all University of Minnesota campuses with health professional student enrollment (Duluth, Minneapolis, Rochester, St. Cloud, and St. Paul). 


Responsibilities 

• Connect with peers in UMD Medicine and Pharmacy programs 
• Plan and facilitate eight relevant, interprofessional, in-person events on the Duluth campus throughout academic year 2026 - 2027 (AY 26-27)
• Apply for and secure Professional Student Government (PSG) grant funding to support programming throughout the year 
• Track student engagement and evaluate impact of CHIP programming
• Draft an annual report demonstrating the impact of Duluth programming throughout AY 26-27 
• Serve on committees and task forces (e.g., BeWELL Activities Subcommittee)

Term

• Fall 2026 - Fall 2027
• 10 hours - 14 hours/week 
• Potential to extend position to AY 27-28 and beyond

Required Qualifications 

• Must be a registered student at the University of Minnesota Duluth studying Medicine, Pharmacy, or a health-related field
• Experience in student engagement and student leadership 
• Experience with program development, implementation, and evaluation
• Experience in event planning and project management 
• Experience with student outreach and recruitment 
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
• Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends (dependent on cohort availability)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite 
• Passion for interprofessional education and student wellbeing 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience leading a student organization 
• Experience applying for grant funding 
• Experience with basic graphic design (e.g., Canva) 
• Experience facilitating group discussions 
• Experience with community building 
• Current UMD health professional student enrolled in Medicine or Pharmacy 
   

Pay Range: $17.00 a hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience
