Early Career Internship Program: Engineering Technology - Embedded Systems

The Embedded Systems Engineering Technology Internship is a 12-week paid program focused on hardware and software product development, including IoT applications, firmware, microcontrollers, and embedded hardware for power distribution products.

• In our Engineering & Technology Program: You’ll support product engineering projects driving the next wave of innovation for Eaton’s products
• Over the course of this 12-week paid internship, Interns will engage in projects that hold tangible significance for our business while receiving guidance and mentorship from Eaton's esteemed leaders
• Assignments will either be supporting a specific business unit/product line or working with broader technologies across the enterprise
• IoT product application and development
• Firmware and software development for micro-controllers
• Development of embedded hardware for power distribution products
• This role may include travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined by the Engineering & Technology Assignment Manager
• Demonstrate geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States for the duration of the Internship Program to an Eaton facility including (but not limited to): Raleigh, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; or Milwaukee, WI

What they're looking for:

• Actively enrolled or received a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or electronics engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer science from an accredited institution
• Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8
• Must be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States
• Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts
• This role may include travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined by the Engineering & Technology Assignment Manager
• Demonstrate geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States for the duration of the Internship Program to an Eaton facility including (but not limited to): Raleigh, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; or Milwaukee, WI
• Transportation to and from the worksite and for incidental business travel is the responsibility of the intern; however, expenses for required and approved business travel (not including the worksite) will be reimbursed
• Experience in embedded systems and exposure to software languages including C, C++, Java, and/or Python
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2
• Prior internship or co-op experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community
