About this role
About the Department
Under close supervision, perform in a training capacity learning to process applications, ascertain eligibility for, and overseeing a caseload for a variety of economic assistance programs including, but not limited to SNAP, various Medicaid programs, Emergency Assistance/LIEAP, and School Clothing Vouchers. Schedule telephone and face-to-face interviews. Competently conduct personal interviews with clients regarding their personal, financial, and social information. Determine eligibility for services, maintain an up-to-date client caseload, and refer clients to various supportive services and agencies when needed. May obtain repayment from clients who have been issued benefits erroneously. Performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: High school diploma or the equivalent.
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience providing direct client services such as interviewing clients, customers or the public and evaluating the data against established standards and guidelines OR two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing customer service, telemarketing, retail or clerical work.
Special Requirement: A valid driver's license may be required

Probationary period 1 year per SPB 2778-A
