Electric Line Crew Supervisor
As an Electric Line Crew Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading, training, and developing the Electric Line Technicians, apprentices, and operators who perform and assist in the activities related to the construction of our electric transmission and distribution system. These activities will include construction and maintenance of new developments, commercial-related construction, outage response, and management of construction crews in both overhead and underground applications.
Additionally, you will be responsible for a wide variety of technical duties while ensuring that all activities adhere to Colorado Springs Utilities' Safety Rules and Construction Standards. This position requires regular interaction with numerous internal and external customers and proficient management of resources, equipment, and personnel to ensure the successful completion, performance, and review of electric work performed.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Enhancing and developing the safety culture for line crews
- Executing assigned field tasks and ensuring high quality and timely completion of all work performed
- Ensuring that work is efficiently planned, assigned, and executed in scheduled construction activities as well as emergency outage response
- Setting clear expectations for the team and ensuring that those expectations are satisfactorily executed, and subsequently holding direct reports accountable for failure to meet expectations
- Creating and maintaining a team culture where each member is accountable for supporting the team and achieving objectives
- Representing Electric Construction and Maintenance in various internal and external forums, meetings, and discussions
- Ensuring high quality of work performed in compliance with Colorado Springs Utilities' policies and construction standards
- Ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations and work procedures
- Resolving workplace personnel issues and building a cohesive, safe, and highly productive team
- Completing paperwork, reports, and approving time allotted to defined work tasks in a satisfactory and timely manner
- Completing employee evaluations and reviews, as well as communicating performance evaluations and any development activities
- Participating in the interview and assessment of potential employees
- Evaluating and training apprentice linemen and ensuring documentation of the training activities of direct reports
Who You Are:
- Demonstrated journey-level line experience
- Desire and ability to lead teams in ways that drive engagement, development, and achievement of results
- Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a valid, unrestricted driver's license
- Possession of the following certifications: Pole Top Rescue, Bucket Rescue, First Aid, and CPR
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exerts in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Heavy Work
- Positions in this class typically require exposure to all weather conditions
