About this role
nVent is a global provider of inventive electrical connection and protection solutions. The Electrical/Controls Engineering Intern will apply engineering training to projects, perform calculations and analysis for component selection, define product characteristics, coordinate development schedules, assist with supplier selection, and support sales and service field activities.
What you'll do:
- Apply specific technological training to specific projects
- Performs calculations and engineering analysis for component selection
- Defines all aspects of product characteristics to meet specifications
- Establishes and coordinates development schedule
- Assists materials department in selecting suitable suppliers
- Supports sales and service field activities
- Complies with the company’s performance and conduct policies
What they're looking for:
- Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
- Current Junior, Graduating with an undergraduate degree between December 2027 and June 2028
- Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions now or in the future
- Basic knowledge in electronics & electrical engineering
- Basic knowledge in analog power management a plus
- Basic knowledge in Digital Signal Processors a plus
- Basic knowledge in processor controlled data acquisition and device control a plus
- Basic knowledge in PADs or other schematic / PCB layout systems a plus
- Basic knowledge in thermodynamics and heat transfer a plus
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply these concepts to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
