About this role

Emerson is a global leader in automation technology and software. The Electrical Design Engineering Intern will support the design and development of Automation Solutions products from concept through production by creating and simulating circuit schematics, testing and troubleshooting electronic designs, researching technologies, and evaluating systems and circuits.

What you'll do:

  • Work with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, software, and systems engineers—to support the design and development of Emerson’s Automation Solutions products from concept through production
  • Utilize industry-standard electrical design tools to capture circuit schematics and perform simulations to ensure design integrity and performance
  • Perform a variety of electronic testing using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators to validate and troubleshoot designs
  • Research and develop new ideas, tools, and technologies that contribute to product innovation and continuous improvement
  • Evaluate Emerson systems and electronic circuits at both the functional block and component level to gain a deeper understanding of system architecture and performance

  • Zero (0) years of applicable experience
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person at a Twin Cities location (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Prior internship experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
