About this role
Siemens is a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare. The Electrical Design Engineering Intern will support custom electrical design solutions, produce engineering drawings and calculations in accordance with UL and IEC standards, and contribute to electrical design and development projects involving power distribution systems.
What you'll do:
- Supporting a design-to-order environment by developing custom solutions to meet unique customer requirements
- Producing engineering drawings with accurate logic, design calculations, annotations, dimensions, and specifications in accordance with UL and IEC standards
- Supporting electrical design and development activities across engineering projects
What they're looking for:
- • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship
- • Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support
- • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
- • This internship is a structured experiential learning program for individuals currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program who will continue their studies following the assignment. Current and continuing enrollment is a condition of participation. Applicants who have completed or expect to complete their educational program before or during the assignment period are encouraged to explore our Early Career Development Program opportunities
- • Knowledge of electrical design and development, power system analysis, switchgear, starters, motors, and drives
- • Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts related to switchgear, protection, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- • Knowledge of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards
