Electrical Engineer Co-Op/Intern - Spring 2027

The Mosaic Company is the world’s leading integrated producer of concentrated phosphate and potash, employing over 13,000 people globally. They are seeking an Electrical Engineer Co-Op/Intern to assist with electrical engineering-related duties, including reliability improvement projects and troubleshooting electrical power systems.

What you'll do:

• Electrical power system reliability improvement projects
• Participation in root cause failure analysis and execution of associated corrective actions
• Troubleshooting of electrical power systems related issues that may arise, such as power outages, electrical faults, and equipment failures
• Software based electrical power system modelling (including data collection, field verification, and model modifications)
• Work on electrical power system relay network expansion
• Analysis of existing electrical preventative maintenance plans, and development and implementation of new plans
• Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors
• Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment
• Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies

What they're looking for:

• Third year level or above by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
• 2.7 GPA or higher
• Basic knowledge of electrical theory to include AC distribution and transformation, AC/DC motor control, power/analog/digital electronics and electromagnetic properties is required
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office
• Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
• Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination
• Basic computer skills are required
• Experience working in a team environment is a must
• Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
• Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others
• Able to lift approximately 0-25 lbs. occasionally
• Able to climb stairs and work at various heights
