About this role
General Dynamics Mission Systems develops high-technology solutions for defense and scientific missions. The Electrical Engineer Intern will support a cross-functional team in designing and deploying secure system solutions involving CPU design, cryptographic cores, system-on-chip architectures, and hardened operating systems.
What you'll do:
- As a hardware/electrical engineer for our Idaho Scientific group, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing and deploying secure system solutions through novel CPU design, crypto cores, purpose-built system-on-a-chip architectures, and hardened operating systems
What they're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
- Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required
- Clear understanding of electrical engineering processes, concepts, principles, and theories
- Familiar with electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and circuit analysis/design
- Creative thinker with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and 1revels in team success
- Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
- Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
- [Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.]
- Strong foundation in relevant coursework or projects: embedded C/C++, RTOS, digital logic, Verilog/SystemVerilog, FPGA development, or ASIC design flow
- Evidence of hands-on problem solving: personal, academic, internship, lab, or open-source work that shows candidates can design, debug, test, and document technical solutions
