About this role
Matrix Design Group LLC designs, manufactures, and sells innovative technological products that help keep people safe. The Electrical Engineering Intern will support engineers and management in new product development and maintenance of existing safety-related electronic and electrical products through design, prototyping, testing, research, and documentation.
What you'll do:
- Participate in product design meetings with members of other groups (management, sales and marketing, software, mechanical, manufacturing, etc.) to gather requirements
- Assist in development of product specifications (may require research of regulatory requirements for a given market and based on general requirements provided)
- Assist in building and testing design prototypes for proof of concept
- Participate in design reviews
- Perform research on various engineering related topics to assist during product development or testing
- Help design fixture/system to test PCB assembly and/or finished product assembly as well as develop the procedure for performing tests and documenting the results
- Create and maintain various forms of documentation such as manufacturing drawings, regulatory approval drawings, test procedures, test reports, user manuals, product specifications, evaluation reports, engineering proposals/estimates, technical reports etc
- Manage and log time for multiple concurrent projects with different priority level
- Work on projects, both in groups and independently
- Shadowing experienced engineers on some projects to develop or hone new skills

- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Good problem-solving and analysis skills
- Basic computer skills and able to use Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage time and keep up with multiple projects
- Good oral and written communication skills
- High level of organization and detail-orientation
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
- Good attitude toward teamwork as well as the ability to work independently
- Good ability to multitask and prioritize
- Good time management
- Analog and digital circuits
- Basic electrical test, measurement, and/or troubleshooting techniques
