About this role
Merrick & Company is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to support its Life Sciences business unit from the Greenwood Village office. The intern will gain hands-on experience in electrical design for facilities and research projects, including power, lighting, grounding, fire detection, communication, security, and access control systems, while collaborating with clients, contractors, and other disciplines.
What you'll do:
- The Merrick Internship Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of electrical design. Our intern will be exposed to a variety of electrical engineering experiences and tasks including, but not limited to, facility electrical power, lighting, grounding, fire detection, lighting system, communication systems and security and access control
- The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve
What they're looking for:
- **Must** have graduation date after August 2027 to be eligible
- **Must** be pursuing a degree as an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Technologist with an electrical emphasis
- **Must** be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate or technologist degree
- Knowledge of facility electrical and lighting design and/or power system design
- **Client Projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Knowledge of power distribution design software (SKM, PowerTools, Easy Power)
- Local Candidates Preferred
