Electrical Engineer Intern

Sentient Digital, Inc. is an engineering and technology company specializing in undersea warfare and maritime security solutions. The company is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to support signal processing, artificial intelligence research, product development, and systems integration for ASW systems. The intern will analyze acoustic data, participate in research and development activities, and prepare reports and presentations for business and customer audiences.

What you'll do:

• Design, develop, test, and document digital signal processing techniques, artificial intelligence and algorithm advances, circuit and system design, and/or Operator-Machine Interface applications to focus on ASW systems and performance improvement
• Conduct in-depth analysis of acoustic data from U.S. Navy sonobuoys and other sensors
• Participate in SBIR Research & Development activities, including new business development and customer technologies
• Develop and deliver effective reports and presentations of progress and direction to business and customer audiences

What they're looking for:

• U.S. citizen eligible for a DoD Secret clearance
• Enrollment as a college junior or above in electrical engineering, applied mathematics, physics, underwater acoustics or a similar degree program
• Ability to undertake occasional CONUS travel
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong written and oral presentation skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• The ability to lift 25 pounds regularly
• The ability to move safely in confined spaces
• The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly when needed
• The ability to go onsite to company and customer worksites
• The ability to remain seated for extended periods of time
• The ability to use a computer keyboard
• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations when needed
