NEI Electric Power Engineering, Inc. is an engineering services firm recognized as a top workplace. They are seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to support engineering design and analysis in the Oil & Gas sector, working closely with a Professional Engineer and an integrated design team.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to assist in various power delivery projects within the O&G industrial sector, such as substation engineering design, transmission and distribution design, behind the meter power system modeling, as well as other project related tasks
  • Assist in creating design products such as equipment general arrangements, single line diagrams, elevations, connection details, bill of materials, construction details, grounding details, conduit plans, illumination plans, etc
  • Prepares computer-based models and perform power system studies
  • Supports electrical power system studies, including equipment sizing, specification, and selection, load flow, reactive power, ampacity, short circuit, grounding, illumination, arc flash, harmonics, system loss, etc
  • Assists in preparing various documents and reports associated with projects, including cost estimates, budget reports, and studies
  • Research and develop a strong understanding and comprehension of applicable Codes and Standards
  • Attend safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines
  • Other job-related responsibilities as assigned

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
  • Relevant coursework or project experience in engineering
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated, well-organized, and a skilled decision-maker comfortable in a fast-paced design environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
