About this role

Cushing Terrell is a multidisciplinary design firm creating sustainable systems and spaces for holistic built environments. The Electrical Engineering Intern will support the electrical engineering team on real client projects, developing electrical design documentation and drawings for power distribution systems while gaining experience with Revit, AutoCAD, building codes, lighting design, and interdisciplinary coordination.

What you'll do:

  • Support the design of electrical systems, including low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution
  • Build Revit and AutoCAD skills through hands-on electrical design work
  • Learn and apply building codes and safety standards to project design
  • Complete individually tailored training sessions on electrical systems design, lighting, and emerging technologies
  • Coordinate with engineering teams across disciplines on active projects
  • Attend site visits with project leads when opportunities allow
  • Gain exposure to the variety of project types and teams across the firm

What they're looking for:

  • Completion of 3+ years of an electrical engineering or related undergraduate program
  • Basic knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with team members across disciplines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Exposure to low-voltage or medium-voltage power distribution
  • Interest in lighting design or alternative energy/power generation
  • Familiarity with building codes and safety standards
  • Interest in emerging technologies and sustainable design
