About this role
Mead & Hunt is a professional services consulting firm seeking a full-time, limited-term Electrical Engineering Intern for its Greenhouse Gas Reduction Electrical Engineering Team. The intern will support engineers and project teams with the design and analysis of industrial electrical and controls systems, prepare project documentation, use engineering software, and develop technical skills through mentorship.
What you'll do:
- Assisting engineers with the design and analysis of industrial electrical and controls systems, including the design of low-voltage power distribution systems, lighting systems, and instrumentation and control systems
- Assisting with the analysis, preparation, and modification of reports, plans, drawings, schedules, studies, and designs for engineering projects
- Utilizing engineering and design software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
- Developing technical skills through mentorship and guidance from senior engineers
- May attend client meetings and assist with client communications related to specific projects
- Participate in project-related travel
- Performing other duties as assigned
What they're looking for:
- Completed at least two (four preferred) semesters of college-level coursework in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field, and an interest in industrial power distribution and/or control systems
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Mead & Hunt will not sponsor a visa (H-1B, etc.) for this position
- Previous industrial internship experience
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with applicable regulatory codes
- Strong enthusiasm for learning and professional development
- Eagerness to grow technical and project‑based skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
