About this role
Merrick & Company is seeking an Electrical Engineering student for its paid Summer 2027 internship program. The intern will gain technical experience through industrial and facility electrical engineering projects, collaborate with disciplines and clients, and support schedules, budgets, communication, and problem solving.
What you'll do:
- The Merrick Intern Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of electrical engineering. Our intern will be exposed to a variety of electrical engineering experiences and tasks including, but not limited to, industrial & facility electrical power, lighting, grounding, fire detection, lightning protection, instrumentation & controls, communication systems, and low to medium voltage power systems
- The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve
What they're looking for:
- **Must** have graduation date after August 2027 to be eligible
- **Must** be pursuing an engineering degree in Electrical Engineering with electrical emphasis from an A.B.E.T. accredited university
- **Must** be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school
- Knowledge of facility electrical and lighting design and/or power system design
- **Must** be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship
- Previous internship in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Revit
- Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu
- Knowledge of power distribution design software (SKM PowerTools, Easy Power, ETAP)
- Local Candidates preferred
