About this role
Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support its Global Facilities, Aero & Industrial group. The role performs standard engineering tasks, assists lead engineers with project duties, supports design updates, analyzes data, researches project concerns, and recommends solutions.
What you'll do:
- Our Engineering Interns are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures
- This includes standard design of engineering systems, correcting and updating designs, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, and other duties as assigned
- Assist with tasks that may include filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentation
- Assist with responses to general questions
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data
- Present solutions to concerns
- Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems
- Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
What they're looking for:
- Pursuit of bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized, accredited program
- Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department
- Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status
- ABET accreditation strongly preferred
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred
