About this role
Accelevation LLC designs, manufactures, and installs physical infrastructure that powers advanced technologies. The Electrical Engineering Intern will support the design, development, testing, documentation, compliance, and continuous improvement of electrical power distribution products while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
What you'll do:
- Assist in the design and development of low-voltage power distribution equipment and electrical assemblies
- Support the creation and maintenance of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation
- Participate in product testing, validation, troubleshooting, and performance analysis activities
- Assist engineering teams with design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address production challenges and improve product quality and efficiency
- Support compliance efforts related to UL, NEC, NEMA, and other applicable industry standards
- Conduct engineering research, data analysis, and technical evaluations to support product enhancements and new product development
- Help identify opportunities to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to product or process issues
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the product development lifecycle
What they're looking for:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Completed at least three years of undergraduate study prior to the internship
- Strong academic performance and demonstrated interest in electrical power systems, power distribution, or product engineering
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively within team environments
- Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Employees must be able to communicate effectively and work in both office and manufacturing environments. This role requires frequent interaction with engineering teams, production personnel, and manufacturing equipment
- Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, reviewing technical documentation, and utilizing computers and engineering software. Employees may occasionally lift equipment, components, or materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Experience with electrical design or CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar tools
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, control circuits, and power distribution systems
- Exposure to NEC, UL, IEEE, NEMA, or related industry standards
