About this role

RTX is an aerospace and defense company offering internships that provide opportunities to work on complex engineering problems and develop skills in advanced technologies. The Electrical Engineering Intern will learn and support ASIC/FPGA solutions, including digital architecture, RTL design, verification, and system integration for communications, security, and space-based products.

What you'll do:

  • You will support requirements capture and ASIC / FPGA digital architecture
  • You will implement ASIC / FPGA digital design using RTL
  • You will support verification and system integration of ASIC / FPGA implementations

What they're looking for:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.​ U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
  • Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship
  • Must have a minimum of 60 credit hours by the start of the internship
  • Experience with RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, team with engineers of a variety of skills and backgrounds, and matrix into projects with aggressive schedules and frequent milestones
  • Experience using ASIC and/or FPGA design tools (e.g. Modelsim, Quartus, Vivado or other FPGA-specific tools)
  • Experience with debugging and root cause investigations on hardware using hardware schematics, integrated FPGA vendor debug tools, and digital lab equipment
  • Digital circuit architecture and resource tradeoffs
  • Some background in signal processing and/or information assurance
  • Familiarity with the signal processing system simulation & analysis tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink)
  • Familiarity with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Git, Subversion)
