About this role
RTX develops aerospace and defense technologies and offers internships focused on complex engineering challenges. The Electrical Engineering Intern will design, develop, integrate, validate, and troubleshoot electrical test systems and products for complex systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
What you'll do:
- Design, develop, and integrate test products for complex systems within a multidisciplinary team
- Create test interface adapters, cabling, schematics, and detailed circuit designs
- Develop engineering and production test systems that align with cost and schedule goals
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during the development and implementation phases
- Utilize modern equipment including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and power meters for validation
- Collaborate independently or as part of a team to uncover and resolve test product challenges
What they're looking for:
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) prior to start
- Knowledge of electrical components including resistors, capacitors, and transistors
- Experience with test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers
- Experience with circuit design and analysis for analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or MATLAB for simulation and automation
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities in a dynamic environment
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet assigned deadlines
- Experience in technical writing and delivering formal presentations
