Electrical Engineering Internship

McClure Engineering is an engineering firm seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern. Under the supervision of experienced engineers, the intern will support electrical system design, construction documentation, technical analysis, equipment selection, stakeholder communication, and field inspections.

What you'll do:

• Perform electrical design of lighting, power distribution and communication systems including fire alarm systems
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical Drafter/Designers on the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications)
• Analyze data and prepare technical reports and documentation
• Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and circuits
• Research commercially available equipment and selecting equipment appropriate for project/client needs
• Provide excellent communication to all stakeholders
• Perform field inspections to verify existing site conditions

What they're looking for:

• Successful completion of Junior Year majoring in Electrical Engineering by start of the Internship
• Pursuing B.S. Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution
• G.P.A. - 3.0 cumulative or above
• Ability to seek guidance from more experienced Engineers and retain/apply the learnings to future tasks
• Enjoys getting "hands dirty" as well as using intellectual capabilities
• While performing field work associated with this position employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and carry and/or climb ladders of varying heights. The employee may lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
• Previous engineering internship or related experience strongly preferred
• Leadership experience in university activities a plus
