Electrical Engineering Process Intern

Ohio's Electric Cooperatives is seeking an Electrical Engineering Process Intern to support the Process Engineering Group. The intern will apply basic electrical engineering principles, assist with plant metrics and equipment inspections, support drawing modifications, and develop technical knowledge of power plant maintenance and operations under the guidance of senior engineers.

What you'll do:

• Gains general knowledge of power plant maintenance and operation
• Assists with tracking plant metrics associated with the efficient operation of plant assets and continuous improvement
• Works with the Process Engineering Group to participates in equipment inspections and provides technical support
• Researches, reads and learns to interpret construction plans, engineering drawings, standard work documentation, and other plant engineering standards
• Develops skills under guidance of Senior Engineers and begins to gain technical knowledge of the maintenance for Cardinal Station units
• Supports and gathers information for Process Engineering staff to process drawing modifications/revisions
• Observes more senior engineers creating project plans, monitoring progress, executing actions and working with engineers to develop recommendations regarding projects
• Performs other duties as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Enrolled in ABET (by graduation date) accredited university studying Engineering discipline for greater than two semesters (Freshman year completed by summer internship start date)
• Completion of Engineering Fundamentals – 101 or equivalent
• Understanding of engineering principles and concepts
• Strong problem-solving abilities
