About this role

Anyware Robotics is a company that builds general-purpose mobile manipulator robots for industrial applications. They are seeking Robotics Interns with expertise in Electronics to join their team, where interns will work on designing, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting robotic systems. This is a hands-on internship that provides valuable experience in a collaborative and dynamic start-up environment.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with a team of like-minded innovators to prototype robotic systems
  • Design, assemble and test custom PCBAs, inclusive of prototyping, integration with the robot and debugging as per requirements
  • Work on selection and integration of AC – DC converters, DC – DC converters, suitable motors and motor drives following technical requirements of the robot
  • Design of schematics for control architecture involving PLC. Further, implement the same in robots through integration of hardware and development of firmware
  • Work with PLC or microcontrollers for quick proof of concept testing
  • Dive into the world of sensors, actuators, and control systems to develop and troubleshoot our robots
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues in the robot. Develop solutions as well as documentation to reduce potential failures in future
  • Share your knowledge and skills with your teammates, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and growth

What they're looking for:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience of designing PCBAs in either Altium, KiCAD, Autodesk Eagle or equivalent
  • Understanding of digital and analog signals as well as common communication protocols such as UART, I2C, CAN, RS232, etc
  • Solid understanding of electrical circuits, including the ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, schematics, and wiring drawings
  • Hands-on experience with standard assembly and diagnostic tools, including power tools, hand tools, power supplies, multimeter, oscilloscope and logic analyzers
  • Hands-on experience wiring electromechanical modules in accordance with circuit diagrams and established wiring standards
  • Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic start-up environment as part of a small team
  • Preferably work on a full-time schedule at our office in Fremont
  • Experience of working with PLCs or microcontrollers
  • Familiarity with Python or C++
  • Familiarity with robotics software frameworks such as ROS/ROS2
