Duties

As a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC, WG-2604-11, you will: Repair or replace chassis mounted components. Isolate and diagnose cause of circuit/component malfunction. Conduct inspection, diagnose nature and extent of equipment malfunction. Perform initial and final checks and may perform inspections when required on equipment being repaired. Conduct on-the-job training on assigned systems and related support equipment and tasks to include classroom instruction as necessary. Troubleshoot, inspect, install, maintain, overhaul, repair, and modify complete operational systems consisting of numerous complex integral components. Adjust and align sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, actuators, servos, computers and other related components. Complete operational checks, inspections, tests and troubleshooting of line replaceable unit (LRU). Use a variety of test equipment such as automated test equipment (ATE), oscilloscopes, multimeters, power meters, combined Boresight Harmonization Kits, and special purpose bench test sets. Conduct debriefing of aircrews to determine the nature of system malfunctions then documents all maintenance performed and records information related to the system, LRU's, or shop repairable units on both aircraft and historical records. Performs other duties as assigned.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have general experience in the follow: Knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, and testing procedures Using hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schematics Electrical or electronic theory. Common testing procedures. The use of hand tools of the electronics trade. Reading schematics. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems. Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment. Experience in using complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels, etc. Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications
