Duties

Troubleshoots, inspects, installs, maintains, overhauls, repairs, and modifies complete operational systems consisting of numerous complex integral components.,Completes operational checks, inspections, tests and troubleshooting of line replaceable unit (LRU).,Isolates unusual malfunctions using technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, tools and test equipment including automatic test equipment.,Solves problems by analyzing installation, circuitry, and operating characteristics of the systems.,Adjusts and aligns sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, actuators, servos, computers and other related components.,Completes bench check, testing, repair, inspection, modification, programming, reprogramming, mating, adjusting, alignment, and analyzing of LRUs and shop replaceable units.,Reassembles unit after repair, performs alignment and makes shop checks.,Conducts debriefing of aircrews.,Recommends methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures.,Guides lower-level mechanics in performance of tasks.,Conducts on-the-job training on assigned systems and related support equipment and tasks to include classroom instruction as necessary.,Processes and accounts for due-in supply assets.,Ensures that material and equipment are properly stored, protected and maintained.,Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations.,Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Army National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). Maximum Military Grade - MSG (E-8) with date of rank after 4 August 2021 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training which demonstrates your knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, knowledge of common testing procedures, skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schematic. WG-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess specialized experience that demonstrates your ability to troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain complex electronic systems where circuit theory must be used to understand the operation of individual circuits; skill in developing new test and repair procedures for which none exists, and when possible, improve existing procedures. The specialized experience must also demonstrate an understanding of the interaction of a number of complex, interrelated circuits to determine the cause of the malfunction and the interaction of various factors. Experience that demonstrates skill in interpreting complex drawings, specifications, and schematics of complete systems to recognize the function and interconnections of the various assemblies. Skill in using a wide variety of electronic test equipment such as systems test sets, frequency meters, standing wave indicators, oscillators, ohmmeters, voltmeters, resistance bridges, and signal generators.

Education

This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.
