IDEA K-1 Program at Hershey Elementary and Wyandotte Elementary Schools for the 2026-2027 school year; hourly rate of $30.00, divided between Hershey Elementary ES and Wyandotte Elementary ES Per pay period:  29.45 hours

We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Push-In Teacher to support and enrich instruction in Kindergarten and First Grade classrooms. This position involves working directly within general education settings (“push-in” model) to lead engaging, age-appropriate STEM lessons aligned with grade-level standards and inquiry-based learning practices.

 

Requirements

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate:

      • Partner with K–1 classroom teachers to deliver STEM-focused lessons that integrate science, technology, engineering, and math.

      • Adapt and differentiate STEM activities to support a variety of learning needs and styles.

    • Instruction & Curriculum Development:

      • Deliver hands-on, exploratory STEM lessons that promote problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.

      • Use the Indiana Science and Technology Standards to create lessons.

      • Incorporate tools like coding toys, manipulatives, and basic engineering kits appropriate for early elementary learners.

    • Support Student Growth:

      • Encourage inquiry, curiosity, and creativity in young learners.

      • Provide support for students’ STEM learning through small group instruction and individualized attention during push-in sessions.

    • Collaboration & Communication:

      • Meet regularly with other IDEA/STEM Teachers to align STEM instruction with grade-level goals and pacing.

      • Communicate with families and school staff about STEM activities and student progress, as needed.

    • Classroom & Resource Management:

      • Organize and maintain STEM materials and resources.

      • Assist in the setup and breakdown of materials during classroom visits.

Summary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.

  • Valid teaching certification (Early Childhood or Elementary Education).

  • Experience working with young children (Grades K–1) in a classroom setting.

  • Familiarity with STEM curriculum and early childhood development principles.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

  • Passion for STEM education and fostering a growth mindset in early learners.
