About this role
BAE Systems develops advanced electronics and defense technologies for aerospace, military, and other critical applications. The company is seeking an entry-level Embedded Software Engineer to architect, design, and develop real-time embedded GPS receiver software, with a focus on GPS Anti-Jam and signal processing techniques. The role spans the full software engineering life cycle and may include tool development, field demonstration support, customer support, and mentoring.
What you'll do:
- Architecting, designing, and developing software for real-time embedded GPS receivers for military ground, airborne, and weapons applications
- Developing GPS Anti-Jam (AJ) as well as other signal processing techniques to provide GPS availability and integrity to our GPS products
- Performing responsibilities spanning all phases of the software engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, code development, integration, verification, and documentation
- Developing software tools
- Supporting field demonstrations efforts
- Providing customer support
- Mentoring other engineers

- * Knowledge in C for embedded software applications
- * Software requirements and architectural skills with functional decomposition, subsystem interface definition, technology application, and analysis
- * Experience working with systems, firmware, and hardware engineering disciplines
- * A desire to work or learn Digital Signal Processing concepts to Anti-Jam protection, Jammer Direction Finding & Position, and Identification of Jammer Characteristics
- * Ability to obtain a Security Clearance
- * Software requirements and architectural skills with functional decomposition, subsystem interface definition, technology application, and analysis
