About this role
General Dynamics is a company that engineers a diverse portfolio of high technology solutions, products, and services. They are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer intern to work with custom hardware for their Cyber group, focusing on developing mission-critical NSA-certified Cybersecurity devices.
What you'll do:

- Objectives - Intern program participants will receive training and job-shadowing opportunities to gain skills to meet the specific needs of the organization and will be prepared to meet the GDMS mission in 'providing smarter mission critical systems and products to defense, civil government, intelligence and cybersecurity customers'. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on GDMS leadership expectations, company history, customer / stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities

What they're looking for:
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technical field
- Has served at least 180 days on active duty
- Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
- Will receive an honorable discharge
- Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
- Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
- Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship
- Real-Time multi-threaded Embedded software, preferably on Linux OS
- Model-based development, preferably Rhapsody
- Extensive experience with Object Oriented design and programming, preferably in UML and C++
- Long development lifecycle and product lifespans, requiring maintenance and regular technology refresh
- ARM virtualization extensions, preferably Hypervisor
