Embedded Software Engineer Intern

CNH Industrial is a company focused on agriculture and construction products, including alternative power and precision technology solutions. The Embedded Software Engineer Intern will assist with designing, developing, testing, validating, debugging, and integrating embedded software for agricultural equipment and precision technology products while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.

What you'll do:

• Assist in the design, development, testing, and validation of embedded software for agricultural equipment and precision technology products
• Support software engineers in implementing and debugging features written in C/C++ for real-time embedded control systems
• Participate in software verification activities, including bench, simulation, and field testing
• Analyze CAN/J1939 network traffic and assist with troubleshooting software and system integration issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, systems, validation, and product engineering
• Support root cause investigations for customer-reported issues and internal defect reports
• Present project results and technical findings to engineering leadership at the conclusion of the internship

What they're looking for:

• Candidates must be currently enrolled college students actively pursuing a degree to participate in the internship program
• Summer interns work full-time (40 hours per week) from May through August
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited university program
• Basic programming experience in C, C++, Python, or a similar programming language
• Familiarity with software development fundamentals, debugging techniques, and version control concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Coursework or project experience with embedded systems or microcontrollers
• Experience using embedded debugging tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or similar laboratory equipment
• Familiarity with CAN, J1939, ISOBUS, Ethernet, or other vehicle communication protocols
• Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) concepts
