About this role

The Toro Company designs and manufactures equipment and solutions for turf maintenance, irrigation, landscaping, snow management, agriculture, and construction. The Embedded Software Engineering Intern will work with the Commercial Products software engineering team on projects involving product development and testing, in-house development tools, and field-data analysis.

What you'll do:

  • Working directly with our project teams to develop and test our products
  • Building/Supporting in-house tools for the development team
  • Data analysis of collected field data

What they're looking for:

  • The 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. Candidates must be available to start on May 17 and participate through the duration of the program
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of a school/employment or any other visa, regardless of expiration date, now or in the future
  • We require interns to be enrolled in an educational program during the duration of the internship program
  • Majoring in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science – focusing on embedded systems
  • At a minimum, you must be entering your sophomore year of college
  • Our best interns have strong communication skills, solve challenging problems, and a positive attitude
  • We prefer you to have a minimum 3.2 GPA
  • Programming Experience in C or C# preferred
  • Python, C++, Visual C programming, JSON, and experience with CAN bus protocol are all beneficial
