General Notes
This is a part-time, onsite student position at the Campus Computer Store. Applicants must be located in Austin and available to begin work by August 15, 2025. Summer availability (10:00 AM–5:00 PM) is preferred but not required. Store operating hours during the academic year are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM.
Purpose
Provide excellent customer service by assisting students, faculty, staff, alumni, and retirees with technology purchases, order processing, and computer repair check-ins while supporting daily retail store operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with technology purchases, answer product questions, process sales transactions, and provide outstanding customer service.
- Operate the point-of-sale system, process orders, handle cash, and complete daily till reconciliation.
- Maintain the sales floor, complete required product training, wear required uniform and name tag, and ensure the store is clean and organized.
- Participate in campus marketing initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or current enrollment in a college or university.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be located in Austin and available to begin work by August 15, 2025.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for technology and willingness to learn product knowledge.
- Ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale system and accurately handle cash transactions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience.
- Availability to work during summer months (10:00 AM–5:00 PM).
- Experience with technology products or computer hardware/software.
- Experience participating in marketing, promotional, or campus engagement events.
Pay
$12/hour
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an onsite retail environment within the Campus Computer Store. The position requires prolonged standing, walking, frequent interaction with customers, operating a computer and point-of-sale system, handling cash, and occasional lifting or moving of technology products and equipment. Employees may participate in outdoor campus tabling and promotional events.

Work Shift
