About this role
About the Department
This position is responsible for supervising and assisting EMS students with simulation and lab student learning objectives.
Position Duties

*Evaluates student performance and assists EMS students with practicing procedures, and communicates outcomes to students and faculty
*Designs, develops, and updates high fidelity simulation activities
*Monitors and maintains confidential student records including the tracking of student performance and completion of high-fidelity simulation activities
*Maintains clean, organized simulation and lab environment
*Maintains a current schedule of all EMS simulations and labs to include planned activities, supervised practice, and remediation
Assists faculty in providing laboratory and simulation experiences
Assists with the development, implementation and evaluation of new and existing high-fidelity patient simulator scenarios
Performs simulation demonstrations for classes and visitors
Assists in ordering lab supplies and equipment
Remains current in the areas of best practice techniques or evidenced-based practice in EMS care
Assists faculty with updating procedure guidelines as needed
Maintains and remains current and able to operate all equipment in lab
Assists with program advisement, retention and recruitment efforts
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Good organizational skills
Ability to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
Proficiency in communication skills, both written and oral
Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Ability to relate successfully with students and staff of diverse cultural, social and education backgrounds
Requirements:
Associate degree
Credentialed as a North Carolina Paramedic or as a National Registry Paramedic with eligibility for
reciprocity to obtain a North Carolina Paramedic credential
