About this role

ENGIE North America is leading the transition to renewable, efficient, and accessible energy. The Energy Market Intern will support the Economic Analysis team by developing market outlooks, analyzing energy market data and consultant forecasts, and contributing to revenue projections and LCOE calculations for operating and pipeline assets across North America.

What you'll do:

  • Support development of ENGIE’s internal view on market pricing across North American markets. Compare ENGIE assumptions and outputs with various external consultant forecasts to highlight differences and drivers
  • Collect, organize, and maintain market inputs—including fuel prices, load forecasts, capacity trends, policy drivers, and technology outlooks. Track changes over time and benchmark consultant inputs and outputs against ENGIE’s internal datasets
  • Assist in developing long-term revenue trajectories for ENGIE’s operating and development-stage assets across multiple ISOs. Contribute to streamlining and automating revenue compilation processes
  • Conduct research on industry trends, policy developments, and market fundamentals. Analyze consultant reports and market data, identify emerging patterns, and prepare recurring insights for internal stakeholders

What they're looking for:

  • • Minimum 2nd year undergraduate or graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Science, or related field with data analytics background with at least a current GPA of 2.8 or higher
  • • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • • Business acumen with an ability to prepare quantitative analysis
  • • Good interpersonal skills, with exceptional organization, prioritization, and time management skills, with a high degree of accuracy
  • • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
  • • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • • This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy in the ENGIE Houston, TX or Chicago, IL office and is not eligible for remote work
  • • The internship work term will be from September 7, 2026, to December 31, 2026, and with the ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week for the Fall/Winter Intern session
  • • Interns must be enrolled in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
  • • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role at any time
  • • Familiarity with Python, VBA, or Power BI is a plus

Benefits:

  • Hybrid in-office work policy in the ENGIE Houston, TX or Chicago, IL office
