Responsibilities - What you’ll do
- Gain knowledge of the utility industry in areas such as depreciation, generation, transmission, distribution, services, construction, production and/or resource planning.
- Prepare testimony in PSC hearing on utility rates.
- Serve as an engineering technical resource in engineering areas such as electrical, gas or generations systems or in specific aspects of statistical or production cost modeling.
- Further enhance the ability to assist in formulating research strategies and selecting and applying the appropriate analytical methods or computer models to provide high quality information to decision makers.
- Obtain a high level of both verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain and interpret the results of complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Position may require occasional in- and out-of-state travel.
Qualifications - All you need for success
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in engineering with the curriculum approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) (December graduates are welcome to apply.) and;
- 0-4 years of progressive engineering experience, one year of experience in a regulatory, compliance, or utility environment preferred.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri required for a Professional Engineer position.
- Experience with spreadsheets and word processing is essential.
- Knowledge of depreciation software is preferred.
- Other computer simulation and database experience is also preferred.
- The ability to work well independently and in a team environment is required.
- Strong analytical, writing and interpersonal skills and personal computer experience are required.
