ENGINEERING INTERN

Aquafil Group is seeking an Engineering Intern to support plant improvement and expansion projects. The role involves identifying operational improvements, designing and optimizing industrial systems, performing engineering calculations, managing purchase order requests and project documentation, and preparing parts and wiring spreadsheets.

What you'll do:

• Support the implement improvement or expansion projects on-time and on-budget with minimal supervision
• Identify opportunities for improvement by working with Plant and Engineering Personnel
• Utilize physical measurement devices to make sure dimensions in CAD drawings are accurate, including lengths, valve positions, pipe diameters, etc
• Design and optimize systems intended for industrial purposes, such as the layout of HVAC systems and oil heating systems, utilizing CAD software
• Perform calculations (power, fluid flow through a pipe, etc) to establish installation standards
• Put in purchase order (PO) requests while making sure projects stay within budget and organize digital engineering folders
• Identify and create spreadsheets for needed machine parts and wires
• Be aware of Aquafil's Recycling Guidelines and Environmental Management Systems Policy (see supervisor if further explanation is needed)

What they're looking for:

• * Computer literate, excellent spreadsheet skills, and proficient in AutoCAD
• * Advanced problem solving and root cause analysis skills
• * At least a 3.2 GPA
• * 2nd , 3rd or 4th year student pursuing a BS in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
