Engineering Intern

igus Inc. is seeking an Engineering Intern to support engineering data management and design documentation initiatives in a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on data migration, CAD documentation, engineering change updates, product lifecycle management, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

What you'll do:

• Support engineering data migration projects between legacy and current systems
• Review, organize, validate, and transfer engineering data, drawings, part files, and related documentation
• Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies within engineering databases and document repositories
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to verify migrated information
• Update engineering drawings, assemblies, and documentation using CAD software
• Revise drawings to reflect engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs)
• Verify drawing accuracy, dimensions, tolerances, bill of materials (BOMs), and revision histories
• Assist engineers with product development, documentation, and continuous improvement projects
• Support the creation and maintenance of bills of materials and part master data
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and project reviews as needed

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with product data management (PDM), document control, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Knowledge of engineering change management processes
