Engineering Intern (Fall/Winter 2026)

etc is an exploration technology company developing hardware and software for space, defense, and exploration missions. The Engineering Intern will support hardware teams through design, analysis, testing, software development, embedded systems work, and multidisciplinary troubleshooting.

What you'll do:

• Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of space and ocean exploration systems
• Contribute to systems engineering processes, including requirements definition and integration
• Support the development and testing of mechanical components and mechanisms
• Write, test, and refine software for control, data acquisition, and system simulation
• Aid in the development and analysis of embedded systems
• Conduct data analysis, simulations, and model testing
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to troubleshoot and optimize system performance
• Document experiments, design processes, and project progress
• Participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas to solve complex technical challenges

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, or related fields
• Strong interest and foundational knowledge in embedded systems, mechanics, systems engineering, software development, and propulsion technologies
• Self-motivated with a passion for exploration and technological innovation
• Excellent self-directed problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Experience with CAD, MATLAB, Python, or other relevant programming tools is a plus
• Familiarity with control systems, hardware integration, or propulsion technologies is desirable
