About this role
BAE Systems is a defense, aerospace, and security company developing advanced electronic, mechanical, and information technology solutions. The Engineering Intern III will support engineering development and manufacturing activities for complex electronic and mechanical systems, including design, integration, testing, analysis, documentation, and manufacturing support.
What you'll do:
- Provide engineering support to the design, development and selection of basic hardware or software components utilizing fundamental engineering principles, theories and techniques
- Obtain working knowledge of company tools. Perform analyses and compile data for investigation by senior engineering personnel
- Assist in the design, fabrication or testing of prototype hardware or software. Document results for review by senior engineering personnel
- Support assemblers, technicians and inspectors for manufacturing issues on new and existing products
- Participate in and document corrective action requests using 9 Step problem solving methodology
- Other duties and responsibilities as required
What they're looking for:
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program for Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science or a related field
- Motivated self-starter with leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability
- Ability to close on discrete tasking in a timely manner
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
