Duties:

SUMMARY: The Site Integration and Cleanup Engineering Manager has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on engineering matters pertaining to the project, projects or designated large engineering assignments

.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Chairs Independent Engineer Design Reviews (IEDR’s) for all EP and EPC proposals (should be conducted and comments resolved prior to review by upper management).
  • Ensures periodic IEDR’s are conducted in accordance with company policy.
  • Monitors compliance with governing applicable state engineering laws for projects in his/her jurisdiction.
  • Develops short- and long-range department objectives and implements actions to meet those objectives.
  • Develops and maintains a qualified engineering organization consistent with present needs and future project requirements.
  • Assists in assigning Project Engineering Managers and monitors the assignments of Supervising Discipline Engineers to projects.
  • Coordinates activities between Project Engineering Managers, Chief Discipline Engineers and Principal Engineers
  • Assists in the development of major design criteria with client’s engineers, Project Managers, Chief

Discipline Engineers, Principal Engineers and Project Engineering Managers and group managers.

  • Provides counsel in the development of basic designs and equipment specifications as related to accepted industry practices and standards.
  • Establishes engineering quality and performance controls with the Project Engineering Managers, Chief Discipline Engineers and Principal Engineers.
  • Manages the preparation of engineering proposals and participates in business development presentations as required.
  • Coordinates and recommends to the Functional Leader of Engineering, bulletins, standards and guides for engineering, drafting and specifications.
  • Authorizes scheduled overtime, approves all overhead charges, and approves all additions and separations in direct reporting engineering staff.
  • Evaluates the qualifications and performance of all Project Engineering Managers, Chief Discipline Engineers and Principal Engineers.
  • Approves individual promotions and salary adjustments for engineering personnel within company policy and budget.
  • Manages development of subordinates through job assignments and company programs.
  • Encourages professional advancement and knowledge through participation in industry engineering societies, committees and conferences, and in industry sales presentations.
  • Establishes and maintains an environment conducive to attracting capable personnel and achieving high productivity.
  • Monitors compliance with state laws/regulations related to practice of engineering

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

  • Extensive technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and materials and applications of computers 2-D and 3-D computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided engineering (CAE) to engineering problems.
  • Proficient knowledge of global business unit activities and operations including business development, legal, procurement, construction, environmental safety and health (ES&H), and quality assurance.
  • Broad knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards, UCOR Standard Application Programs, Engineering Department Procedures, and project controls and design criteria in all engineering disciplines.
  • Broad knowledge of administrative practices.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in negotiation for dealing with client representatives


Job-Related Qualifications Required:

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university or equivalent

 

Experience: 15+ years total engineering experience with at least 5 years of this experience in a supervisory capacity. Must be a licensed Professional Engineer.

Q Clearance or ability to obtain required.
