Enterprise IT Security Analyst 1

The University of Houston hires an Enterprise IT Security Analyst 1 to support information security risk analysis, assessments, and day-to-day security issues involving university information assets. The role also supports incident investigations, policy compliance, security metrics, and required reporting.

What you'll do:

• Under direct supervision, performs security risk analysis and assessments associated with information resources, risk management policy development and product assessments. Assists with day-to-day activities addressing security issues involving university information assets
• Responsible for day-to-day customer service for information security issues reported to the department
• Assists with investigations of campus information security incidents for resolve
• Assists with security risk assessments to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures
• Responsible for collecting data for IT security metrics and assist with state required information security reporting
• Maintains security department records including policy and procedure documents and software licensing records
• Preforms other job-related duties as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline
• Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed
• Requires a minimum of six (6) months directly job-related experience
• Department is willing to accept education in lieu of experience
• Department is willing to accept experience in lieu of education
• Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure
