Entry-level Backend Software Engineer (Python) - Chicago - ONSITE 2X Week - FreeWheel

FreeWheel, a Comcast company, provides advertising platforms and software for publishers, advertisers, and media buyers across digital video and programmatic advertising. The Entry-level Backend Software Engineer will help design, develop, test, deploy, and support Python-based backend solutions while collaborating with experienced engineers throughout the software development life cycle.

What you'll do:

• Assisting with the design, development, and maintenance of software applications using appropriate programming languages
• Participating in code reviews, providing feedback for continuous development process improvement
• Implementing testing protocols to identify bugs, enhance performance, and ensure application reliability
• Participating in agile development practices, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to enhance team collaboration and project management
• Staying informed on emerging technologies to suggest innovative solutions for software functionality
• Writing and editing technical documentation to support software design and application requirements
• Reviewing literature, patents, and current practices relevant to assigned projects to support the development of robust software functionality
• Working with Quality Assurance to ensure applications meet technical specifications and user needs
• Debugging software to enhance performance and user experience
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
