About this role

ERG is a research and consulting firm supporting federal, state, and commercial clients through multidisciplinary expertise in science, engineering, public health, and related fields. The Environmental Data Analyst will support environmental and sustainability projects, including clean energy grant programs, by managing datasets, analyzing environmental data, supporting grant administration, developing dashboards, preparing technical materials, and interfacing with clients.

What you'll do:

  • Review clean energy grant applications for eligibility and completeness
  • Process payment requests and interface with applicants throughout the grant process
  • Identify and categorize potential application errors and communicate them to applicants and clients
  • Help develop and maintain a public-facing government data dashboard
  • Analyze, collect, and organize data to support greenhouse gas, energy, and water reduction projects, benchmarking, and reporting
  • Research and develop briefing materials on sustainability topics, including decarbonization and building and fleet electrification
  • Provide additional data analysis and technical communications support on environmental, sustainability, and public health topics

What they're looking for:

  • - Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related field
  • - Minimum of one year of experience working with environmental or sustainability-related data
  • - Experience with data visualization software, such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense
  • - Familiarity with energy efficiency improvements, water conservation measures, and greenhouse gas emissions inventories
  • - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including experience drafting technical reports and presenting findings
  • - Experience working with and managing large, complex datasets
  • - Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team
  • - Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • - Ability to take initiative, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks
  • - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools preferred
