Title: Environmental Technician
Location: Charleston, TN
Salary: $77,244 - $115,600
Schedule: 9/80 or 5-8 Schedule Available
Focus: The Environmental Technician is responsible for working closely with the assigned organization, contractors, and site EHS leadership to ensure full compliance with all environmental regulations, enhance EHS awareness, and improved EHS performance.
Environmental Technician Essential Job Functions:
- Facilitates compliance with environmental waste and water regulations & standards for assigned area(s); is responsible for waste management and disposal issues per DOT and RCRA regulations.
- Coordinates, participates in, and provides data for relevant audits, assessments, reporting requirements, and investigations, ensuring preventative actions are implemented to avoid issue and/or finding reoccurrence.
- Operates and maintains process sewers and ponds, sewage treatment plant, landfills, laboratory instrumentation and heavy equipment.
- Samples and analyzes environmental samples per NPDES and RCRA regulations.
- Supports emergency and spill response activities.
- Conducts and documents required inspections per NPDES and RCRA regulations.
Environmental Technician Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree* in Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline preferred
- Must meet one of the following education or experience requirements:
- 3+ years of related work experience; chemical or manufacturing experience preferred; OR
- Bachelor’s degree* in Environmental Health & Safety with a 3.0 cumulative GPA in lieu of work experience
- Ability to work independently on complex projects, manage conflicts and provide resolution using a combination of technical skills, teamwork, and personal credibility
- Solid Microsoft Office skills using Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred
- Experience operating heavy equipment and knowledge of RCRA, DOT, and NPDES regulations preferred
- Must be able to pass fit test for full face respirator and be available for overtime and call-ins
- Must possess a valid US Driver's license
